On Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30am to make Conrad a bottle and Henry was sitting on the sofa looking out the window. I asked him what he was doing and he said "checking out the van". Let the "Are we there yets?" begin! So I have to do a little plug for the place that we got our Van. Pop Top Heaven. These guys RULE. They were so low key, there was no haggling and it was a totally enjoyable experience. While we were waiting for paper work and new tires Ross and I went for a drive around Yuciapa. Ross got a $13 hair cut and we did a little thrifting, such a good day.
Are we there yet?

After many years of dreaming, we did it. This weekend we bought a VW van. Ross and I have been analyzing this decision for many years. A couple weeks ago we had a talk about how fast life is passing us by, I told Ross that we have about 10-12 years until our kids will be over us. So if that is our time line we need to do everything that we want to do with our boys RIGHT NOW.

ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to realize that you only have a finite time with your boys. Congrats and here's to many great adventures together.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! We had 2 of these in our childhood... the first was red & cream and the second was avocado green. MANY happy moments created. I might have to share a few pics! Love, Jenn

ReplyDeleteAwesome! So sad when I think about our kids getting over us. I try to remember that everytime Emerson asks me to play school with her. Enjoy the van. I know you guys will have so many adventures together.

ReplyDeleteHow fantastic, you guys rock!
ReplyDeleteOh snap! We got the exact same one (same color) off the VW lot the last year they were sold in the States (2002? 03?) Our boys were little and it was perfect for us. I have such good memories of popping up the table and having a rolled taco feast in the middle of a parking lot, etc. For some reason it began to feel like another room to clean (it was so big!) and just too much work to keep, so we traded it in and I've regretted it ever since. We met the nicest people with that thing...everyone wanted to climb in and see it, talk about it, etc. Have so much fun with yours ;)
