art barn + 5k + cole's bday

It was a very busy weekend but most of my time was spent in the Art Barn getting ready for the MOPS Boutique Friday {you are the best husband Ross}. Above is some old thread that I hadn't used until this weekend. Something about the sheen, feel and patina of this thread was amazing. Below are just some of the projects that you will find on Friday.

Mushroom Totes.

Monkeys & bunnies.

Grocery Bags.
Stockings, I made 8. They have room for hand embroidered initials or names. This took most of my time. I wanted to make 8 stockings that could be loved for 100 years. They are all made out of things that I have found at antique stores, flea markets and my grandmother's shed. All the buttons and even thread are old. They have a lot of soul {wink}.

I am so bummed this is the only photo that I have from the Miracle Babies 5k. I shot one blurry photo and then my battery died. So sad. It was such a powerful event. Suzy Jackson and my OB, Dr. Doneshmand started Miracle Babies after Suzy lost her daughter, Abbie, 11 days after she was born. They wanted to start an organization that financially supports families with babies in the NICU. Before the walk started Dr. Doneshmand gave Suzy a Lifetime Achievement Award for Abbie, I actually can not even say that without getting emotional. She only lived for 11 days but her legacy will live on and touch so many lives (it already has). Suzy & Dr. Darling you are amazing!

Cole's 2nd birthday. I am sure you remember the adorable invite, well Sunday was the party and my girlfriend did the most amazing job. I actually took a ton of photos to share but I am trying to talk her into being a guest blogger so she can share how she did it. Everything from the organic cotton candy to mint chip ice cream cake. Everything was homemade and adorable.
