For Henry's birthday this year we decided to keep it sweet & simple {with a wedding, Waterman's Ball, France, and construction all happening within a few days of each other it seemed too overwhelming for me to have a party}. I have had a little bit of guilt surrounding the decision, until yesterday. As Ross and I were watching our son in all of his glory riding a pony we realized that this might be the only year that his birthday can just be us three. Ross and I soaked up every second. Henry took his first train ride {to Zoomars in San Juan Capistrano}, drank a hot chocolate, got a cowboy hat, road a pony and fed a bunny. It was perfect.

Happy Birthday sweet boy... we love you so much.

  3. we have a feeling Henry is one of the luckiest birthday boys to have shared in such a sweet day--they'll be lots more birthdays you can have the big blow-out--keep it sweet, keep it simple for now.

  8. A friend told me that any birthday party under the age of six is really for the parents...I think I can believe that. Good decision, I think! Julie
