I love that my husband doesn't think I am crazy when at 8:30 at night I suggest we take every book down, re-arrange the bookshelves and 'UNCOVER' all our books. I had been staring at the book shelves in our house so bummed, uninspired. You know when something in your house is just bugging you and not at all how you want it? Well that was my relationship with our many bookshelves until the other night. I took all the covers off of each and every book, and I found that what is underneath is far more interesting then the tattered, discolored piece of paper. My feeling is that covers are to books as sofa arm covers are to sofas.

I have been feeling the same way about my book shelves! I did a post on a "coming soon" with our bookshelves and have still not gotten around to it! Such a good idea to start by "undressing" them!

I feel the same way...I always take the covers off and sometimes arrange them by color. Your collection looks beautiful!
